Koebner's phenomenon refers to the development of skin lesions at the site of trauma in individuals with certain skin conditions. It is most commonly associated with psoriasis, where new psoriatic plaques can form following skin injury or trauma.
General Medicine
The precursor of vitamin D3, 7-dehydrocholesterol, is present in the keratinocytes of the skin's stratum corneum. Upon exposure to UV light, it is converted into cholecalciferol (vitamin D3).
Physiology
The gastrocolic reflex is the contraction of the colon triggered by the presence of food in the stomach, facilitating bowel movements.
